“We quickly ascertained that the space was all about their young teen daughter,” Stephanie explains. By opening up the layout and defining distinct zones, the design includes a comfortable TV lounge and a hidden surprise—a secret room concealed behind a bookshelf, perfect for sleepovers and private hangouts.
Inspired by a Monet-influenced wallpaper, Stephanie layered teal accents throughout the space to create visual continuity and warmth. Performance fabrics and easy-to-maintain materials ensure the room stands up to everyday use while remaining sophisticated. “My favorite aspect of this project is that we were able to create a livable and fun lounge out of a very undesirable space and do so with the extra special surprise element of the secret room,” she notes.
